Blogger has changed so much since I last looked at it! New theme reminds me of strawberries and cream..yummy.
There were many highlights during the trip. I'll jot down some before I forget.
1. Almost getting locked out of the hostel in Hiroshima with Lisa. It was my fault hehe I made like a 20 minute phone call to my host family and got Lisa running up and down the same street to get 100 yen coins. Silly us...we forgot to take the room key card with us (which could unlock the after hours door). I actually didn't know that the card could do such a thing.
2. Climbing Mt Misen in Miyajima. I died. Well my legs literally did. The stairs at UNSW obviously didn't prepare me well enough. Unfortunately we didn't see any hairy monkeys. :(
3. Climbing yet another mountain at a temple/shrine. I don't remember the name (refer to Lisa's blog for names). David and I went exploring while the others were way up ahead. There wasn't even a peak -_- I asked a Japanese man what was at the top and he replied, "Many trees." Exciting.
4. Universal Studios!! Went on the Hollywood Rollercoaster 4 times I think. The rain was painful on the rollercoaster. Sitting next to Lisa the first time was hilarious. The Jurassic Park ride was cool. We went on that twice. Got soaked the second time round...bad idea to sit at the front. Unlike the other girls, I did not try to fit my ass into the hand dryer.
5. Meeting my host family!! I ditched the group for a day and went around Kumamoto with my host family. :)
6. That night in our hostel in Kyoto. LOOOOLLL What fashionable hairstyles we had.
7. Green tea, green tea ice cream, green tea egg rolls, green tea mochi, green tea biscuits, green tea candy, green tea kitkat, green tea, green tea, green tea everywhere!
8. Taste-testing everything with Jenny. It was definitely a good way to save money. We ended up eating breakfast, lunch and dinner like everyone else anyways.
9. The shock from the weather in Seoul when we first arrived. It's a huge change from Japan and Busan (the first place we went to in Korea)...20 degrees difference sometimes. Adam and I died on our first day in Seoul...-14 degrees. It felt like my face was going to fall off.
10. JYP Nation Concert and 2AM Concert. Music is so much better live.
11. Seeing snow fall for the first time at the Korean Folk Village. Speaking of the Korean Folk Village, the Haunted House and snow sleds were highlights there.
12. Bargaining at Dongdaemun. Jen, Ange and I learnt new tricks hahaha and Angela had an interesting experience with a clothes hanger.
13. DUNKIN' DONUTS!!!! Omg everything was yummy. The bubblemilk tea...sweet potato bubblemilk tea and sweet potato donuts YUM The pearls actually were soft...not like over here where it tastes like plastic. I think I miss this store the most from Korea. We need one in Australia. I'm going to open my own >=D
14. Korea is sooo cheap.
Ok time for me to start reading Breakfast at Tiffany's.
Happy New Year! :)
